Do you sometimes wonder how to get a six-pack? Believe it or not, every single one of us has a six-pack. The trick is to know what to do to reveal and enhance it. Although there is a lot more to it, this requires building ab-muscles but predominantly losing fat.
In order to look toned around the midsection, you need to focus on keeping body fat to a minimum. A good method of achieving this is doing maximum calorie burn workouts, such as high intensity interval training; better known as HIIT. These workouts involve periods of intense anaerobic exercises alternated with less intense recovery periods. Incorporate full body movements as these will burn more calories and make sure you include some strength training, as the more lean muscle you have, the more calories you will burn.
Work the whole six-pack area
In terms of building your six pack, make sure that your ab workout covers the whole six-pack zone; upper and middle abs, obliques and lower abs. Great exercises to incorporate are: crunches, bicycles, straight leg raises (avoid this exercise if you have any pain in your lower back), normal / side planks, V-ups.
As a guideline do 3 to 5 sets of 10 to 15 reps, and increase these as your fitness level progresses. Variation is key so bring variety in your workouts for better results.
Incorporate these core exercises 3 to 5 times per week alongside the 20-minute high intensity workout.
Last but not least, you need to optimise your diet. Having a six pack in general requires sub 10% of body fat, which is a result of a healthy balanced diet low in sugar and high in protein.
